Name: Jessica Todd.
Alias: Jess.
Age: 32.
Gender: Female.
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual.
Faction: Survivor.
Role: Smuggler.
Location: Boston.
Physical Description: Jess is tall at 6'0'', with wavy dark brown hair that reaches her shoulders. Freckled. Her eyes are a hazel-brown in colour, and she has pale skin. She's muscular, lithe, and agile, and uses these traits to her advantage. Jess usually dresses in plain clothing. Denim jeans and a flannel shirt will suit her just fine. She has a few scars and scratches on her arms and legs from her life as a mercenary, as well as a bullet wound that grazed her collar bone and left a nasty mark.
Personality: She's headstrong and a leader figure. Jess can be stubborn, but is usually wiling to listen to reason unless she feels strongly on a certain subject. She follows her own moral compass, which excludes killing or harming others but allows for disobedience when necessary. Jess has motherly tendencies and cares deeply for the ones she loves or is close to.
Alignment: Jess is fairly neutral but she has no issue with disobeying the law to achieve her goals.
Likes: Hunting, reading, the chance to take a bath or a shower, autumn weather, open windows, cats.
Dislikes: Hot weather, argumentative people, killing (reasoning why she left her mercenary position).
Strengths: She's an excellent archer, a good markswoman, and she is half-decent when it comes to stealth.
Weaknesses: At times she can be headstrong and let her anger cloud her judgement, she has a hard time leaving people behind - especially when there is an emotional tie.
History and Background: Jess was born in a small farming community in Georgia, and still has the accent to prove it. As a young girl she honed her skills as an archer and would often go hunting with her father, whom she was close with. She lived with him and her mother, as well as an older brother at the time the fungus began ravaging the country, and in the chaos she, her mother and her brother were separated from her father. To this day Jess does not know what happened to the man, and has accepted his death as a fact. She mourns him silently, but has never said a word of this to anyone.
After escaping Jess's mother brought the two teenagers to Atlanta where her parents lived. The city had quickly been established as a safe hub, and for a while the broken family could settle in and find solace in one another. As the years went by Jess and her brother began working odd jobs to support their small family. Eventually their mother fell ill with cancer, and nothing could be done about it. After her death Jess decided she could no longer stay in Georgia, as it was too full of bad memories for her. She broached the subject of moving to Boston to find the Fireflies with her brother, who bluntly refused. They argued, and in a fit of anger Jess packed up and left. It took her weeks to get to Boston, traversing the overgrown wilds riddled with infected, but she eventually made it with only a few scars and scratches.
In Boston, Jess made an attempt to seek out the Fireflies to join their resistance but failed. After hunger and a lack of lodgings became more than what she could deal with, she sold herself as a mercenary for hire, and eventually she became a smuggler. Jess still has connections to her mercenary past but tries to avoid them as much as possible. She's much more comfortable with her life as a smuggler. Since moving to Boston she has not heard from her brother. Jess has lived alone in the city for nearly ten years now, and doesn't see herself being anywhere different in her near future.

Roleplay Example:
"Clicker," Jess grunted, kicking the rotting corpse with her boot. The fresh strench of dead flesh wafted up and she grimaced before taking a step back. "Something must've killed it."
"Well whatever that 'something' was, chances are it's still around."
Jess nodded, turning to face her partner-in-crime. The two of them had been hired out as mercenaries, supposedly to rid the world of one lunatic old man taking refuge in some shack outside of the city. "Well," she said, "we'd better get going. And keep an eye out, will you? If you see or hear anything, say so."
The man nodded, an uneasy look on his face. Jess lead the way forward, reflecting on how much she'd hated the idea of being paired with fresh meat. She'd protested when given the assignment, saying if her mark were just some kooky grandpa then she could handle him herself, but her boss had refused and practically demanded she take along 'back-up'.
Stalking through the bush as quietly as she could and cringing each time her partner stepped on a twig, Jess scanned the area in front of her for any sign of the shack in question.
"Stop," she whispered all of a sudden through her gas-mask.
"What?"
"Shhh!"
Not too far from them, rooting through the forest debris and pawing over the picked-clean corpse of some wild animal was a clicker, its deformed face twisting around and letting out crude cries as it blundered aimlessly through the woods.
"What's it doing here?" hissed her partner. Jess held up a hand to silence him, her heart beating quicker than usual. She reached one hand behind her and pulled a single arrow from her quiver.
"One arrow isn't going to kill that thing!" squeaked her partner. He grabbed her shoulder, giving her a shake. "Jess, let's go!"
He spoke too loud. With a shrill shriek the clicker turned toward them, alert as ever. It began stumbling forwards and Jess froze, her heart caught in her throat.
